Around £85m is unclaimed, how much should be spent trying to inform people who’ve already had letters, phone calls and text messages?

  2. All the places I’ve tried to redeem them at have had no idea how to do it which probably doesn’t help the situation.

  3. Don’t assume the energy providers are actually going to all that trouble texting or phoning because they are not. At least not all of them. Most cases the PP customer will get a letter with the coupon on the reverse, redeemable at paypoint (where they usually top up their key)

*You need to read the back because it will list the various forms of ID you can use – the ones I’ve seen have a decent list – you basically want something with your name on it like a council tax bill or similar as a minimum*

From this point you have to find a post office or supermarket like the co-op which has paypoint because at least here the small independent corner shops which have PP are being funny about accepting them.. which isn’t actually a surprise because they have previous in this department (paypoint electric vouchers aren’t a new thing)

I know a few who have just received their 3rd one, some are only just receiving their 1st and others are going back/forward with their provider to get any at all.. so I’d be very weary of just assuming its going unclaimed because people don’t need it, at least not on a large scale.

The roll out has not been done well, plus add the disruption to post (and the time of year) you could be forgiven for feeling like non-dd customers were being penalised
