Following the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ rejection of maronite Maria Skoullo’s (*a major figure in Kormakitis*) application for candidacy, 4 minority candidates also withdrew their candidacy. Despite withdrawing from the election via writing to the Kyrenia District, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ignored their withdrawal & included their names in the election list. As of 10:00 AM, ballot boxes have been set up in the region & the election has begun.
Gratulation, Tahsin bey, congratulations Ersin bey that you show to the whole world that the “TRNC” under the rule of yours isn’t ripe for a state; that you openly show to the whole world your attitute to minorities which will surely receive plenty of understanding and sympathies. Gratulation to your achievement. Now instead of a representation under TRNC legislation, the Maronites will only have a representative under ROC legislation. That’s a big win, isnt’ it? By the way, what about the ultimatum to the UN? Did they subdue and come to your office to sign a hosting agreement with the TRNC? Did they leave? I don’t think so. Tahsin, what about your great plan to tax the aid to the enclaved? Doesn’t work? Wasn’t a good idea?
