The green German movement just blows my fucking mind with their nuclear phobia. Its also especially insane considering Germany is one of the countries with the most chemical plants, and those leaks can be just if not more devastating, and leaks are also way harder to detect compared to radiation.
On one hand, maybe if the Green spend less effort on their dogmatic opposition to nuclear, they might manage to actually move stuff forward on the increasingly urgent ecology front.
On the other hand, our nuclear plants are decrepit and increasingly failing precisely because the Greens have been the driving reason (or convenient excuse) for decades of cost-costing, maintenance-shirking and political sabotage. They’ve successfully scuttled the very thing they tried so hard to kill and now they turn around and refuse to own it? Hypocrisy at its finest.
