I know Poland doesn’t have the best reputations these days due to their Conservative way of living but if any nation deserves reparations from WW2 it’s Poland.
Germany committed a huge amount of war crimes against the Polish people, the effects of which no doubt continue to this day. 5-6 million Polish people simply do not exist as a result of Germany’s war crimes.
They aren’t wrong to try and discuss reparations. Technically speaking Poland didn’t receive reparations due to being forced to deny them by the soviet union and hence the argument can be made that by no longer being tied to the soviet union. Poland therefore has the right to discuss reparations.

For people trying to understand how much the polish government hates Germany: When former Prime minister Donald Tusk had the *audacity* to address the german people in a speech *in german*, the PiS-party (opposition back then) clipped a part where he said “For Germany,…”, put that on repeat, and played it everywhere.
