  1. Don’t know why it’s being paywalled as there is no paywall ? But hey ho.

Massive achievement for Stoltman. 2 times worlds strongest man and going for deadlift world record !

  2. Was absolutely buzzing. Despite the fact I knew that he won months ago. He’s a beast. Really lovely guy. Love the Stoltman brothers.

  3. Well done Tom, incredibly deserved win.

Imagine being the Stoltman’s dad when your sons come round for dinner and you have to remortgage your house.

  4. I look forward to WSM every Christmas. It massively pissed on my chips when I found out this year they hold it in the summer! Why the fuck do they wait 7 months to air it?
    And where’s WSW?

  5. I always find it weird we still show world strongest man over Xmas…when the finals are held nearly half a year before!

Great win for him, I think he will be trading titles with the Ukrainian going forward…

  6. > Lifting runs in the family. His older brother, Luke, is a five-time Scotland Strongest Man winner and won the Europe Strongest Man title in 2019.

Jesus, I wonder what their parents fed them.

  7. He’s an absolute unit. 6ft 8, incredible wingspan, moves very fast. Beast at deadlifting, beast at the atlas stones, the yoke and carry competitions he’s so fast, and he’s not as bad at the pressing events as his wingspan would suggest.

Also a great representative for autistic people, and the way he and his brother work and support each other (and other competitors) is lovely. Much better than the boring rivalry of the Thor/Eddie days

  8. Why are the crowds always so small? Every year it looks like a few people that happened to be walking by stop to have a look. Why don’t they have some temporary stands?

  9. I second the spoiler alert. Not something I follow closely, but do watch at Christmas and haven’t caught up yet. Won’t need to bother now.

  10. Luke is a great sportsman, he literally always cheers on his opponents no matter how he did.

Also, not that he needs it, but if we broke from tradition and showed WSM in the summer or after it’s done, I reckon they would get a lot more mainstream recognition and a shout for SPOTY.

  11. UK in general has a very good gym and bodybuilding culture, one of the things we can be proud of. Glad to see Tom win.

  12. Can anyone with knowledge on Strongman explain how a Mark Felix or Gavin Bilton can routinely come short in the Giant’s tour qualifying shows yet still show up in the WSM Heats?

Furthermore, Stoltman/Novikov appeared in, and won, a few of the Giant’s tour heats. If they’ve already qualified, why bother risking injury in another?

  13. I met Tom once in a pub. I was paying for my beer at the same time as him. The barman passed him his change back across the table. As he scooped up his change he accidentally scooped me up with it. I’m in his jeans pockets right now.

  14. This is very much worth a watch – https://youtu.be/RXWyuO3v4vM

They have their own channel but this gives you an idea of what the brothers are about if you’re unfamiliar.

Tom has autism, and was, in his own words “a twig with no interest in the gym” who struggled a lot socially. His older brother got him into it, so it’s amazing to see how far he’s come.

    Such lovely blokes too.
