This was willed down to me from my Irish great grandfather who died a long time ago, so unfortunately I can’t ask him. Apparently it’s supposed to be an Irish folktale or children’s story from what I understand, but no one I’ve asked knows. Any help Is appreciated!

Any maker’s mark? It doesn’t look typically Irish at all.
Looks more like a German lidded Stein than anything Irish.
And it looks quite old – could be worth a lot. Dunno about the story though
Try r/Antiques and let us know how you get on please.
It depicts an old germanic folk story, translated the title roughly means The Night the Four Were Buggered
