In summary ” thanks guys you make us look good in front of EU , but the tourists are coming in a few weeks so we need you to get out of the the hotels ASAP ” .
They never seem to think things through our government.
Do Irish homeless people living in hotels pay for meals?
If they don’t thrn why should Ukrainian refugees pay?
If they do then Ukrainian refugees should pay.
In fairness. Many of the Ukrainian refugees are allowed to work and might have found jobs. In case they have found a job, they should be cut off from the state for basic needs like food etc.
Typical Irish attitude. We’re the most ‘welcoming’ and ‘generous’ people until it starts to directly affect us.
Typical Ireland. Pretends that it will take care of you. Then leave u high and dry!
>€10 a day, or €5 for children, for their food
Considering they are entitled to social welfare, and that some of them are working, this seems perfectly reasonable.
This is fair enough and I don’t see a problem with it.
So, because there is no pinned comment from the OP and no one will read past the title.
If someone does not have a job they are entitled to job seekers + extra for each child. Sure it works out to a max of €208/week +- €138 for an adult dependent and a further +- 40-48 for a child. If you are pension aged, then instead you get a pension.

Say what you will, but it’s not a bad deal.
