Hi! I’m getting a little confused about buying train ticket to Austria, are you folks familiar with this notification? Will I be ok if I don’t print my ticket to Austria IN Austria? I downloaded mobile app for OEBB as well, but it shows the same message while buying.

Print tickets for use in Eastern Europe at all costs before taking the trip. Is the issue in y our case that your are travelling from Poland to Austria and therefore not in Austria beforehand?
You have to print the ticket. Digital (only) Obb tickets are only valid within Austria.
It means what it says.
The problem is a polish train conductor cannot validate if your self printed ticket is genuine, you need a ticket printed on official ticket paper. When you buy this you will be sent just an invoice and a code, no ticket.
You should buy your ticket from Polish railways(PKP). If not possible online then you can do it in person.
Just went Berlin to vienna bis wrozlaw and I just used a phone ticket in the oebb app and it was totally fine.
This only applies if you want to get your ticket at the train station (either at the counter or from a ticket mashine), it should be fine if you either have the ticket on your phone (make sure you have enough battery) or print it out yourself.
My family and I had a similar problem with our last Italian trip – we wanted to book a connjecting train from inside Italy and also had a problem getting the ticket from outside Italy, even over the website. I forgot how we resolved it in the end, maybe someone was in Italy prior to our trip and picked up the tickets.
