  1. There is a plan to replace it but AFAIK Tesco are blocking it because they will lose their lease on the premises below it in the new scheme

  2. All you needed to do was ask what that hideous building in Phibsboro is and people would have known exactly what you were talking about. There was no need to so cruelly inflict the photo on us.

  3. The offices on the inside are very nice. Bright and airy with windows all around. Amazing how lovely it is on the inside given the outside

  4. There’s plenty of Phibsboro natives that actually love it. It’s part of the local history at this stage

  5. I wouldn’t say it is hideous, you have to live in the 60’s or at least watch some movies from that decade to fully understand the architecture.

  6. That’s actually the best I’ve ever seen it looking. Way more drab in reality. Sara field House in Limerick is the sake, takes the look off the Shannon River something terrible. I remember thinking how horrible it was even back in the early 80s as a small child.

  7. I work there! There’s an animation studio and The Community Foundation, which manages the Toy Show and loads of other funds that go towards Irish charities and local projects. It’s got a fantastic view of Dublin and the mountains. I can see all the way to Howth from my floor.

  8. Office space above ground floor shops. Yes it sure is hideous. There was a plan to gentrify the area in general but the 2008 bust interrupted that plan. As for the building itself, the largest shop in the building (Tesco) objected to a renovation plan, based purely on the fact that their income would be zero while the shop would have to close for the duration of the renovation.
