I’m sure according to An Taisce, it’s of vital architectural importance and should never be knocked down.
Brutalism architecture probably.
I like it.
Phibsboro Tower, just a 1960s office building
It’s beautiful
It’s an office block for a couple different companies including the GRA
There is a plan to replace it but AFAIK Tesco are blocking it because they will lose their lease on the premises below it in the new scheme
Super BOHS!
But you’re right, it’s horrible.
All you needed to do was ask what that hideous building in Phibsboro is and people would have known exactly what you were talking about. There was no need to so cruelly inflict the photo on us.
It’s the 5G microchip centre of operations to pick up all our brainwaves from the covid vaccines.
Used to be eir offices.
It’s the old Wernham Hogg office
It’s kind on synonymous with phibsboro now hideous as it is.
There’s plenty of Phibsboro natives that actually love it. It’s part of the local history at this stage
I wouldn’t say it is hideous, you have to live in the 60’s or at least watch some movies from that decade to fully understand the architecture.
That’s actually the best I’ve ever seen it looking. Way more drab in reality. Sara field House in Limerick is the sake, takes the look off the Shannon River something terrible. I remember thinking how horrible it was even back in the early 80s as a small child.
How dare you slag Irish art.
After Hawkins House was demolished, it’s probably the next ugliest building in Dublin. We just missed out when the property bubble popped, it was due to be replaced with an apartment block and mall overlooking Dalymount Park.
I work there! There’s an animation studio and The Community Foundation, which manages the Toy Show and loads of other funds that go towards Irish charities and local projects. It’s got a fantastic view of Dublin and the mountains. I can see all the way to Howth from my floor.
Dublin is just a shithole in general …..
Amazing Brutalist architecture. Nice
That building is looking better in the photo than what it is IRL
Warehouse for spare asbestos
Office space above ground floor shops. Yes it sure is hideous. There was a plan to gentrify the area in general but the 2008 bust interrupted that plan. As for the building itself, the largest shop in the building (Tesco) objected to a renovation plan, based purely on the fact that their income would be zero while the shop would have to close for the duration of the renovation.
I want my ashes scattered there.
I love it. So ugly but reminds me of the 90’s
phibsboro itself is hideous

[Brutalism at its finest…](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brutalist_architecture)
The offices on the inside are very nice. Bright and airy with windows all around. Amazing how lovely it is on the inside given the outside
Its offensively ugly
The gardai have an office up the top
Brutalist architecture I believe
It has a certain industrial beauty to it.
How fucking dare you

Is that some sort of attempt at a roof garden?
I wish the gym was open!
And that tesco is shit
It’s where they built your bionic ma!
It’s the coddle of buildings.
