>Thor the walrus has appeared in Northumberland, 100 miles north of Scarborough, where he drew a crowd of hundreds and led to the town’s New Year fireworks display being cancelled.
>A large crowd quickly gathered in Blyth on Monday lunchtime after a walrus was spotted resting on a wooden pontoon at the yacht club.

Would be amazing to be that close up to a Walrus, something to remember, and far better way to start the New Year with than environmentally polluting fireworks..
Blows my mind that a Walrus can do 100 miles in a little over a day tbh
I wonder if Thor has an agent. Plenty of people would sign him up and pay a large fee to appear near them come November 5th, to get their local fireworks cancelled.
He was a bit disappointed. He went all the way to Scarborough for New Year only to find out they’d cancelled the fireworks.
We need more Thors to make people understand the issues fireworks cause wildlife. As cool as fireworks are, nature is cooler and more important.
