Just few days ago my friend hit her knee on a rock up in the fells. They came to help with snowmobiles and got them stuck in the snow. After 3 hours they got a helicopter to get her to safe. One of them thanked her for arranging this teaching experience 😀
Stopping for reindeer and aurora seems like an idiotic move. Yes both of them are beautiful but you are driving and you have a responsibility. And it is sad that our emergency services need to deal with these things which are totally preventable emergencies.
The other emergencies which are result of winter conditions and not so predictable nor preventable ones are totally understandable and as the nature of an emergency but stopping for rare sightings is unacceptable human behaviour.
I am a bit strict when it comes to these situations because a car crash where only cars get damaged is a good day and luck. However, these type of behaviours merged with winter conditions can create accidents which can result in people dying.
