  1. This is how we greet eachother in Norway.
    Usually we repeat it a couple of times, like you can repeat “hei” to “heihei!” “Jeg er osten, jeg er osten”.
    It really means I am glad to see you, based on the fact that cheese is a comfort food that makes you happy.

  2. In Finnish you can actually call someone cheese as an insult. Probably closest synonym would be calling someone dense.

  3. My wife came across this in her Duolingo journey, I haven’t yet. But this has been a running joke in our house since. At least we all know how to proclaim ourselves the cheese?
