I’m guessing this doesn’t apply for self-built computers? If so, you could argue the tax shouldn’t apply to barebones computer kits, since they can’t be used on their own.
Imagine having to pay for making a copy of a work your purchased for your personal use and depriving the seller of 0 sales, at no cost to the seller.
Fuck you
Waar zijn de privékopievergoedingen voor balpennen, potloden, beitel en hamer, kwasten, verf, papier, gitaar, piano, etc? Want met die zaken kan je ook gewoon je favoriete kunstwerk en liedje “kopiëren”.
Belgium slowly but surely turning into MurRRica…

Perhaps someone should start to sue companies for having copy protection as it infringes on our right to have private copies?
You pay the tax so you better litter your house with private copies.
De inflatie alleen was nog niet genoeg. We moeten er echt voor zorgen dat alles onbetaalbaar wordt.
Time to buy your electronics in France or Germany I guess.
if you visit agoria.be and click “more info about the companies” without accepting the cookies it’ll redirect you to tools.agoria.be and use illegal cookies.
Welp, seeing as we pay a certain copyright tax anyway, might as well start pirating again. YarrHarr lads
This makes me just wanna start stealing shit
Welp time to start torrenting my “home copies”
If you must pay for the right to copy why the hell dont they apply the tax on the actual thing you might copy in stead of unrelated blank media?
So I really don’t understand how this is supposed to work…?
Does this mean it’s legal to copy digital works after having paid the fee? Since I paid for it (no matter how little), it means I have the right to the service or good that I paid for, right?
I sincerely doubt this is how it works, but I don’t get how they can ask money for an illegal activity that you **might** commit by using the equipment, while still forbidding it?
Will they also start asking for a murder-fee when buying chef knives? Or theft-fees when buying a backpack? Or will they ask me to pay my traffic tickets upfront when I buy a car? Heck, let’s fine everyone with a penis for their future possibilities of pissing in mailboxes!
I might be missing something but how does this benefit society in any way? Pirating and bootlegging are already illegal?
Just as netflix and streamz and spotify are becoming more popular than piracy, now this?
Isnt this the opposite of innocent until proven guilty?
So… Does this mean that from now on any copy of any work that is owned privately is legal? This might come back and bite them in the ass.

It’s 2021 and I stream *everything*. What am I supposed to copy?
Mijne papegaai kan perfect muziek nabootsen van de radio, moet ik daar nu ook auvibel op betalen?
Geldt het ook als je uw pc in het buitenland koopt? Of pc onderdelen met als bedoeling het zelf te bouwen?
