‘Violent rhetoric’ within Irish anti-lockdown movement ‘should not be underestimated’

  1. Basically what they are saying is “We’ve restricted freedom of movement, freedom of businesses, and medical autonomy. Now we want to restrict freedom of speech.”

  2. People are anti lockdown by nature aren’t they? Not really a surprise that people are getting violent, we’ve had them on and off for two years. What do you expect? Celebrations? If they worked and we knew that they would eventually get rid of Covid then maybe I’d understand the anger against anti lockdown protesters, but they don’t and they won’t. The other European nations are having real protests, we don’t know the meaning of the word in this country.

  3. So being against a lockdown (despite still believing in Covid, the vaccines and other preventative measures) makes you ‘alt right’? What a crock of shit article

  4. The journal writers are just paid shit posters a notch above their commenters. What purpose does this article have other than further polarization? Its just hopping on the band wagon of maligning people with different pigeon holes. I imagine this is how those fascist Fine Gaelers view the world and where their disdain for democracy comes from.

  5. Once I have enough food in place to last until after Christmas I’m locking the front gates and not coming out till I have to.

  6. Friend of mine started getting into anti lockdown craic over the summer, going to meetings, protests and the like. Out of curiosity I asked him if I could tag along to a meeting and see what the story is.Meet up with a group of about ten in a pub mid October.First lad I talked to and without any provocation opened the conversation with Hitler was hard done by and the “plandemic” is the work of the Jews. Nobody in the group disagreed with this assessment. I stuck around till I finished my pint but in that brief time they managed to hit all the high notes, the Jews, the gays, the communist/woke agenda and of course the new world order. Took the last gulp of my pint and gave my buddy a pat on the shoulder as I said good luck, haven’t spoken to him since.

TLDR:anti lockdown crowd actually are a bunch of right wing freaks.

  7. I was at a counter protest against an anti lockdown rally. There was some 15 year old lad with us, proper young lad like. One of the anti lockdown people was arguing with someone from our group screaming at him like. The young lad asked him “hey can you calm down” and the anti lockdown lad told him “you wanna go sort this out in that alley there”. Anti lockdown lad was about 40. Absolute scrotes

  8. Meh, if they had a Climate Extinction banner on them, they be labelled well intention young people. If they are protesting against lockdowns they are labelled violent far right elements.

  9. >far-right political parties
