Pickets On Liberties Pubs 1971. At what price for a pint will you start picketing a pub?

  1. I think when I go home at Christmas to the local village and pay alot less for pints, it’ll be an awakening to how much we get ripped off in Dublin

  2. I wouldn’t. I just wouldn’t go. That’s not even a hypothetical. I’ll go for a gig or a mates birthday or some other special occasions.. but I think people who pay the current prices are actually idiots. You can create the same craic if you agree among your mates to meet up and have a few cans. Organise a bulk buy to make it further affordable and even chip in on getting in pay per view matches. There is nothing a pub can do that you can’t do yourself, including ripping you off. However you can stop ripping yourself off. A pub can _only_ rip you off.

  3. “The minister then threatened to introduce an order fixing maximum prices”

Total opposite now, the minister is setting a minimum price from Jan

  4. According to a chart I had, the price of a pint in 1971 was 3shillings and 5pence (£0/3s/5d), or 17P in decimal currency which came into circulation that year. That would be 22c in Euro.

  5. >They’ve increased the price of beer without permission from the government.

what the fuck bring us back to the days of Jack Lynch
