“O’Leary said the UK economy was suffering from “piss-poor political leadership”, adding: “What deters booking is the whole uncertainty – this idea that if I travel abroad if the government changes the rules in 24 hours I could be stranded, even if Covid-free and vaccinated … Travel only exists on a degree of confidence.
People in the UK recognise that the government there are idiots. You wouldn’t rely on [Boris] Johnson or Grant Shapps, or Dominic Raab who can’t add or subtract – would you want your journey dependent on the intervention of those idiots? The answer is no.”
😂😂😂👍

” Ryanair will delist from the London Stock Exchange on Friday to deter UK shareholders, as it attempts to comply with EU ownership rules. O’Leary said it was “an inevitability post Brexit”, adding: “Brexit has been a monstrous economic disaster delivered to you by those idiots … Even the great Brexiteers, [Simon] Wolfson in Next, Tim Nice-but-Dim Martin [of Wetherspoons] now want visas [for their staff].”
Edit: more quotes, less political but more amusing
Generally, I think o’leary is a tool. But he is right about what he says here.
Leary is a shit but he tends to be right.
His hedging strategies around fuel have been sound and based on serious maths. Whereas the governments response to am epidemic has been an example of unhinged flailing and drowning.
so if the government doesn’t act, they’re useless, if they act, they’re idiots
of course his pissed, less people on planes = less £££

This is two junkies fighting each other in the street. It can be amusing to onlookers as no one cares if either loses but no one really wants either to win.
The inconvenience and cost of expensive PCR tests and the fact I could end up on a red lost and have to pay £’s for a hotel when I come home puts me off. I’ll happily travel when they can 100% say I won’t have to do all this BS.
I get why they’re doing it but the profiteering from the hotel quarantine and PCR is a joke
I’m not going to argue about the “Pisspoor political leadership” in the U.K., but O’Leary only has one motive and that’s £££’s.
Your seats are shite, and your cheese and ham toasties are dire. Shut up man
I’d love the response to be shaped by idiots, I can only dream of idiots. Unfortunately, we have incompetents shaping it and they are far more dangerous than idiots.
Don’t listen to a businessman about what is best for the country. And I say that as an airline employee!
He’s right butI don’t like agreeing with him on account of what a twat he is.
What we have is a Government that introduces the right rules (restrictions) but at the wrong time…and also has its top medical/scientific advisers (Whitty) sending out conflicting advice to the actual official advice…despite home shaping the official advice. It’s all bizarre.
