  1. “”No one likes to see a child sustain an injury but not all accidents are someone else’s fault and compensatable and this is one such case,” he said.”

Once again for the claiming bastards in the back!! 👏

  2. >Judge Fergus said an engineer for the plaintiff said the game was not safe.

The game of flapping a parachute up and down.

  3. Good on the judge. Too often judges are soft in claims involving children.

    > The teacher saw the collision and had not called Megan’s name to come back and would never have given an instruction in English because all activities in the school were carried out “as Gaeilge”.

That stood out to me about the child’s story. Using English in the Gaelscoil is a massive no-no and not something I’d see a teacher doing

  4. Damages for a bang to the head and two black eyes (and I bet it wasn’t much). I’d love to know what they were trying to get

  5. The claims culture in this country is a joke. I broke my wrist in a sports day (It is not long since I was in school before someone tries to call me a boomer) playing soccer. Slide tackle from another lad and I landed on the wrist. It happens, there was never any word of going to court or any of that nonsense. Got a cast and I was fine in 3/4 weeks.

  6. Not everyone claiming is undeserving though. I know this case seems frivolous but I’m always amazed at how many people jump to the defence of insurance companies. We’ve seen a fall in motor claims again this year but most premiums seem to be increasing, same with public liability claims. A lot of people seeking compensation are deserving of it, to generalise and call them claiming bastards is a bit unfair. But definitely yeah that kids mother is a pure chancer

  7. I don’t think it’s right to name the child in articles like this, I’m sure it wasn’t her decision to claim.

  8. I saw a soldier got 36k because she slipped and hurt her face in training. Sickening, they might as well train soldiers on call of duty.

  9. Nice legal bill for mum.. will think twice next time before she thinks about an easy payday…fairplay to rhe judge.

  10. Sounds like the child is purely legally named here. The mother probably got angry with the school and/or wanted a few grand for her troubles.

  11. >An engineer for the plaintiff said the game was not safe. The children were in a confined space and running in different directions and a risk assessment should have been carried out and steps taken to make it safe.

These cunts really don’t give a shite about the world they are creating with stuff like this. Joyless, money hungry pricks.

  12. Please, please, make more judges like this. I’m sick to my fucking teeth of reading about simple accidents resulting in thousands of euro’s worth of claims, and insurance costs destroying everything in the country.
