Whats the most outrageous delivery charge you’ve seen for a takeaway? eur7 for Swords to Portmarnock seems a bit excessive if I’m honest lads.

  1. 9km from Swords to Portmarnock. It’s not just around the corner. But then again if they’re offering to deliver it that’s on them. I wouldn’t be paying that.

  2. To clarify: that order consisted of one pizza box with a medium/small calzone, handful of chips, one garlic dip and a can of sprite.

  3. Apache pizza in Bundoran were looking for €15 delivery to Ballyshannon last summer. About 7KM and they operate an electric delivery van.

  4. Anyone know what a “Service Charge” is supposed to be for? It gets added to so much stuff these days.

“Here you go, an excuse to charge you a bit more”

  5. I deliver food the odd time, I personally would refuse to deliver that far, surely a cab that distance would be 3 times the price

  6. Only found out that my local chipper now charges a bag fee .. for the paper bag they put the chips into.
It’s a bit fucking cheeky as I’m not going to ask for no bag and carry them in my pocket. I can’t see why they couldn’t have incorporated the price of the bag into the price of the food.

  7. That’s, what? A 10-15 minute drive, so 20-30 minutes round trip.

So assuming that the driver gets it all (they don’t) it’s €14/hr

    Reasonable to me

  8. Seems reasonable, you’re going through or around malahide to get to it aren’t you? Why are ye ordering from that far? I don’t bother if places are too far you’re paying more for colder food

  9. I’m surprised a restaurant in swords offered to deliver to Portmanock. That’s pretty far for a food delivery.
