Putin has lost the gas war against Germany — Germany has filled its storage facilities without Gazprom’s help, and it’s prepared for next winter as well (13 Jan. 2023)

  1. Excerpt:

    >When Russia invaded Ukraine almost 11 months ago, Germany was importing more than half its natural gas from Russia. Blackmailing Germany was therefore the centerpiece of the economic pressure Moscow piled on the European Union, aiming to undermine European support for the Ukrainian people and their army.

    >The plan has failed. Germans are not freezing in their homes; they have not been forced to shut down their factories.

    >Politicians in Berlin are no longer afraid that Moscow could take revenge on Germany and bring the country to a standstill. No — Germany itself renounced coal and crude oil from Russia as part of the EU sanctions, and since the end of August [2022] it has not received any natural gas from Gazprom, either.

    >In other words, Germans have been living without gas from the supposedly indispensable Russian pipeline for five months now — and Europe’s largest economy appears to be coping well.

    >In further evidence that Putin has lost the gas war, the German economy and population have been given an unequivocal all-clear by two sources at the same time: the state regulatory authority, and an industry association.

  2. I’m Dutch and market prices are back to normal. Except for energy companies who still have the super raised prices and our government not giving a shit because they get extra tax money. One thing this situation has showed is that not only Russia is our enemy, our own government is too, *and* the energy companies. Like, if you pay 600 euros a month, half of it goes directly in the pockets of the energy companies, we should be outraged tbh.

For example, market price for electric is 0.27 euros. Energy companies charge us 0.87

For gas, market price is 1.43, energy companies charge us 2.98.

Fucking scum, I’m super mad about this. I’ll never forget how they screwed us over, and the government is screwing us over with plenty of things last couple of years.

  3. Not without help, without DIRECT selling. We just paid more for Russian oil and gas, and it doesn’t require breaking any sanctions.

Every country in the world will simply buy additional Russian oil, and sell their own supply, when they can. You then sell your own supply, and profit from Russia while selling zero “Russian” oil of course. You would be a moron not to profit from this. And profit they do…..
