Funny how the “perceived corruption index” (perceived being the key word) likes to say places like Vietnam are corrupt, because you can give a copper a £5 bribe to avoid a speeding fine and yet the UK does stuff like this.
A £50m bribe to avoid helping the country.
We have simply perfected corruption behind the scenes.
Their patriotism and willingness to put themselves out to help their country brings tears to my eyes.
that this surprises no-one at all tells you everything about this disgraceful government
People were dying. The brass neck to try is staggering.
They know deeply they have no consequences as a Tory.
We see articles like this constantly, nothing happens or changes. I just feel a little more defeated every time.
When will this end? New revelations, almost daily, of Tories fleecing the people they are supposed to represent. It’s time that they are held to account for these crimes. But as the party is now rotten to the core it’s hard to see any justice being dished out to them. Disgraceful that they allowed to get away with any of this…
Surely we’re at a point where every single uk citizen’s tax affair ought to be made public so that everyone can scrutinize them. Keeping tax return anonymous creates a lot of opportunities for public persons to obfuscate their affairs. And honestly, it might help to know exactly how much everyone in the country is getting paid.
While people were worrying if they’d survive the pandemic, the Tories were clearly worrying about how to make a fortune from it.
_Quelle surprise_
Kind of stuns me its taken over 2 years for these stories to start getting the attention they deserve. Imagine if it had happened under Labour. You’d think with the scale and scope of the fraud it would be plastered across every publication with those involved named and shamed until they stay in the public memory for years.
I think choosing a time of major crisis in which tens of thousands of your fellow citizens are dying a pretty horrible death as your moment to figure out a way to rob tens of millions of pounds from your own country is pretty much treason, these people should be treated as such.
Or Steve Dechan, former Tory Councillor in Stroud.
Who’s company of three employees (one being his wife) that hadn’t turned a profit for 5 years was awarded £250m+ in PPE contracts. 60% of the PPE wasn’t fit for use in the NHS.
Bought himself a mansion in the contswolds, a house for his parents, paid himself and his wife £100k claiming he was owed it from his company not making a profit.
And also bought himself into a US medical device company, using our money. He bought himself homes, and business interests using our money!

And it’s barely been reported.

Tories will be in opposition for a generation. If they aren’t we have only ourselves to blame.
Noooo they’re corrupt? Really? My god who could have ever seen this coming?
Fkn scandal, all ppe should of been done though the NHS, not these assholes setting up companies to Rob the public pot.
