Age-check X-rays risk harming child asylum seekers, government warned

  1. This is not news. The medical profession has always told the government this when the subject of medical confirmation of age has been raised. It’s not ethical, x-rays are not something we should mess around with.

  2. The solution is to open a processing centre in Calais but the gov know most of the asylum applications would be successful…

  3. How awful, everyone knows that a greying beard, receding hairline and forty-a-day smoking habit are tell-tale signs that you’re dealing with a 12 year old. Besides, Albania is basically the same as Syria or Yemen, right?

  4. Shame, but when the adults asylum seekers are lying to enter the country and then you apply the Human rights for a child to have e an education you end up harming more children in the country.

So, what do you want to do? Potentially endanger british school children or potentially endanger the rare cases when a child does arrive?

Talking of how dangerous Xrays are, should we ban its usage in hospitals? Could be dangerous to check if and when a bone is broken or fractured, oh and ban its usage within dentists, imagine how scary it is for a child as adults runs for cover while you’re just sitting there…

I’ll admit, it should be used in limited time only if the age can’t be determined

  5. Worked really well when Eto’o wanted to ensure that grown ups weren’t playing for the Cameroon u17 football team. How the fuck can Cameroon make this work and the UK can’t? Are we now a developing nation? Why would anyone want to come and seek asylum in a developing nation?
