The trouble is that waitrose and coop are much more ethical and quality. And ethics in food comes at a cost.
I use aldi a lot too looking to save a penny and theres a lot more crap additives in their meat. Chickens with dextrose and flavour enhancers etc.
Needs must right now ofc but its a bit disingenuous to only mention cost when quality is a concern.
Really no one should be able to buy a whole chicken for £4
Oh and they are generally awful at gluten free unless you have a massive one.
Part of the fun is finding the Aldi rip off foods.
The winner so far is the chocolate covered Oreo clone
I am surprised Farmfoods was not top for upping their prices. It is insane now how much they have put everything up.
Waitrose price rise coincides with the return of their free coffee, so you feel like you’re getting a bargain free drink!
It’s quite useful if I’m walking by, can pop in and buy a banana for 20p and have a latte.
Sadly Aldi tomatoes are not very good. I much prefer toms on the vine from Lidl.
Just like everything in the UK, our best businesses are owned by Europeans, but the British are still so exceptional right?
