Strong demand for package holidays despite weaker purchasing power

  1. Not surprised, only boomers go to the canary islands. All the cool kids are “yo man travelling” with a backpack to the more exotic destinations.

It’s funny to sit at the airport and look at these package deal holiday tourists which typically are from the lower sosioeconomic background arguing to get into lounges with their Hesburger platinum card and then them being packed into a fully chartered plane to sharm El sheik.

  2. Because of “discounts”

e.g: Just yesterday I bought a coke bottle with 50% discount. I rarely drink those carbonated overpriced syrups. What I get in INR 40 I got in INR 20 and bought it.

Now while drinking it I am thinking.. wow I could have just bought INR 2.5 Lemon +INR 2 mint + sugar+ black salt and would have enjoyed something tasty. Only the ‘discount’ tag made me lean over to a worthless purchase.

Edit: sorry coke lovers didnt mean to offend you
