It is really surprising considering the levels of obesity and diabetes but has been this way for some years.
Maltese people be like
>Generations of inbreeding causing lots of health issues
>Eats fatty foods and never exercises
>Overweight
>Dies of natural causes aged 91
>Refuses to elaborate further
Turns out pastizzi, kinnie and no exercising increases your healthy life span. What do you know..
Underreported health problems? Statistical tricks and different standards?
The implications of this on democracy are horrendous.
A young educated critically thinking person is potentially cancelled out by some overly religious, conservative old person with no education, a rudimentary intelligence and always votes for the same party irrespective.
Poor malta
We all know it’s the pastizzi power
It amazes me how such an incredibly positive statistics can only yield moaning on this sub.
Why not take this as an opportunity, instead of mocking our fellow Maltese, to praise our hard working healthcare workers who are obviously doing a fine job, our wonderful (and free at point of care) healthcare system and our strong social safety net?
I am grateful to live in a country which prioritizes our people’s health. I only hope we can improve on these great stats!
