I don’t know if Ukraine needs a jet-style Su-25. This jet is an attack aircraft carrying a large number of bombs to provide close support to ground troops. It can be called a Soviet version of the American A-10 aircraft. What Ukraine needs is a jet that can bombard enemy ground troops, but is not suitable for air-air combat and has a weakness for air defense systems? If it is possible to buy jets and deliver them to Ukraine, Polish Mig29s may be the first to be delivered. There are already around 60 Soviet-designed jets in the hands of Nato countries. Most of them are Mig29. And a bit of Bulgaria’s Su-25s. It is not easy to use fighter jets at this stage of the war. Any air-flying vehicle can become a target.
I hope we clear out all the Russian crap we still use this war.
Very nice. Any idea what is the Bulgarian Air force replacing these with? Helicopters? Prop planes like the T-6? Are the F-16s on order supposed to fill in the ground attack role?
The good takeaway from the news about this and other similar operations is that there are driving forces with creative ideas able to support Ukraine with weapons and ammo despite all the mayhem around elections biannually and Russian influence.
