Moin,

my spouse and me are currently considering moving to Norway. For me getting a Job should not be a problem as an IT guy and maybe my current employer would transfer me to Norway. For my spouse, it is sadly a little different. She has a PhD in analytical Chemistry and is currently working at her Postdoc time. But the difficulty is there are not this many Jobs which needs a PhD or at least a Master in analytical chemistry. The few jobs I found via google or [finn.no](https://finn.no) mostly (4 out of 6) requiring good skills in spoken and written in norwegian. Some Jobs also did not list English skills at all. Finding jobs for her is not an easy task, even when there maybe many analytical labors in Norway.

It’s natural to learn the language of the country when you are willing to life there, so we already decided to take lessons. Without the language, it would be impossible to integrate in the culture but which CEFR level should be considered, as good starting level to not offend the maybe future employer?

A2 maybe not but from B1 to C2 is everything viable as I guess.

  1. The language doesn’t matter in either of your fields. Depending on where you’re from it will be easier or harder to find jobs. Many don’t want to hire people who need masses of immigration forms filled out.
