My husband has been diagnosed with depression a while ago, since 2019 he goes to the same psychiatrist and gets his prescription for antidepressants. In summer of 2022 there was a mix-up with appointments and he ended up going to another doctor for his meds. That was a short visit: got in, explained what’s up, got the prescription, left.
A couple of days ago we were checking out TK-Safe function and went through his records. That particular appointment contained his usual F33.9 diagnosis and another one, that he was unaware of, R47.8 Sprech- und Sprachstörung.
I’m confused, mostly by the fact that it’s new information, but also because he speaks normally. Well, normally enough to be working as an PA announcer on the stadium back at home.
And this is the part I really don’t want to be typing. He speaks English with his regular psychiatrist, that time he decided to practice German.
As far as I know, he can just restrict the access to this record and be done with it. So before we file it under “funny stories about bad language and miscommunication”, i want to ask: what am I missing here?
P.S. posting with permission from my husband, and here’s the [screenshot](https://i.imgur.com/Yo7eaM2.png).

Yes, some doctors do it without telling you the diagnosis.
A substitute doctor once diagnosed me with pathological alcohol consumption, I was there with back pain because I had carried 20 beer crates the weekend before.
I would say the terrible doctors do that.
I had to intervene in my case, I didn’t want to have just any mental illness on my record.
Today I can laugh about it too.
Especially when I think back to his question about how much I drank.
“Was it a lot according to WHO standards? Or a lot for a German?”
