When did Harris get the Justice role, taught McEntee was still in the role?
Long winded way of saying they’ll do absolutely nothing about it.
During the protests in Ballyfermot the crowd was looking around for the local TD’s & Councillors houses and were talking about dragging them out of them. That info was gotten from someone who actually was at the protests.
Even if it’s a small minority, these people are deranged and dangerous.
Is this the guy who as Health Minister, during the biggest health crisis of our lifetimes, thought there were 18 Covids before Covid19?
This is just his way of saying to his gov actors and NGO types to smear all protests as racist pigs.
Divide and conquer.
Not that I agree with these protests at all, but is it the governments place to condemn a protest?
Even gobshites deserve to protest in a free country.
Ffs sakes their mouths are tightly shut anytime the orange order wants a march but now theyl take a stand against hatred??
Our government shouldn’t be using our police force and media to squash a protest…
A Fianna Fáil Senator is trying to have protests banned as well.
It’s almost like the Government is trying to stoke up anger and create a far-Right in Ireland.
That sounds sinister. Democracy under attack from FG.
>Justice Minister Simon Harris
Justice minister???
What are his qualifications again?
“He initially studied Journalism and French, at the Dublin Institute of Technology, but dropped out in first year to pursue politics full-time.”
Right makes sense…
They blamed ‘sinister fringes’ for the success of water protests too.
Have learned nothing
They’ll do anything except admit fault, nobody with half a brain buys these nonsense attempts to brush this issue under the carpet.
Everyone knows there’s lunatic fringe cases trying to capitalise on these issues – why don’t they focus on solving the issues themselves rather than pretending they don’t exist.
FF and FG are soft on Fascists. So they’ll do nothing. And the problem will get worse.
Arrest them if they have done something illegal, once again the Garda Commissioner is spinning for the Government and blaming the far right.
Irelands Micheal Gove
Drew Harris is maybe going back to what he knows best from his days in RUC Special Branch, running loyalist agents. Over the next few years expect to see a lot of fascists seemingly immune from arrest and/or prosecution
Why aren’t they protesting against immigrant centres in Blackrock and Terenure ?
Is there any legal limitations on Gardaí surveiling citizen’s who haven’t yet committed any crime?
Gathering information on individuals… lawfully?
Statement comes across Stasi like.
Sounds like Drew is looking to find/recruit the republican dissidents he claimed are the biggest threat to Ireland, its his personal mission.
Is that why the Gardaí are marching with the right wingers rather than stopping them like any other protestors? Increase powers and become a gestapo by fomenting the far right?
The Irish policing authority that hired this man on a mission should probably be looked into or shutdown.

Didn’t they call people who had concerns about the vaccines the same names? And they turned out to be right!!
That’s the problem with the government interfering with peoples opinion, otherwise known as free speech.
Is it a protest or people just getting ready pissed off with everything
Investigating rightful protest against an unchecked and clearly faltering immigration and asylum system instead of stopping gangs of youths harrassing and harming people.
classic gardai
I spoke to 2 women from ballymun today who I know. They’ve been living there for decades. They told me that some women they know are protesting because they live in council houses and don’t want their daughters to have to move back in with them with their kids. If their daughters move back with them the rent will go up and they’ll lose an allowance they get for living on their own.
The usual situation is that the daughter would move into another council house once she had a baby or she’d go to a hotel while she waited for the council to provide her with a house. This dynamic has been thwarted by Ukrainians taking up hotel spaces.
When I heard this I immediately started looking up where I can join a counter protest in favour of Ukrainians. Personally I’d like for as many of them as possible to stay. If they’re anything like Polish people, they’d be a massive benefit to our country.
Ah Reddit. As bad as FFFG at times.
Typing with one hand “fuck those protestors”.
And with the other “how dare the gardai and government investigate”.
I condemn those in charge who have allowed children to eat on the street from soup runs organised by decent people, i condemn those in power who look after their buddies and ignore crisis after crisis in Ireland, I condemn those parties who spend more time “but, but, but Shin Fein” shite than doing their jobs….
From the article it seems that an organised campaign of intimidation is underway. That should be investigated and prosecuted if established. Essential that Gardai do that.
“sinister, organised campaign to intimidate asylum seekers and sow dissent within Irish communities for their own political benefit.”
Moving on from the unacceptable and illegal intimidation I’m curious about that phrase “sowing dissent” means. If you disagree with a policy and try to persuade people to your view are you sowing dissent? If you are dividing a community on water charges, planning permission, whatever for political benefit are you liable to Garda investigation? A careful watch needed by An tÚdarás Póilíneachta or, in the English language, the Policing Authority.
