‘Attack on democracy’ as London overrules Scottish gender law

  1. More like democracy working as intending? If after the court rules and it’s not favour of the UK government then they still try and stop it somehow then it’s broken.

    Otherwise its just a normal central government stopping a regional government enacting a law which in there legal opinion they don’t have the power to fully enact something that happens around the world.

  2. I wouldn’t call it an attack on democracy. The devolved governments have limited powers. Westminster believes this act exceeds the remit of Holyrood because it would have impacts outside Scotland. The courts will decide whether that’s the case. It’s happened several times before and will probably happen several times again.
