Related, not much better up north especially since we have less than two million people here, I’d like to see the estimated deaths due to treatment delays, people shouldn’t be dying from treatable illnesses in this day and age.
At 30th September 2022, 376,833 patients were waiting for a first consultant-led outpatient appointment, an increase of 3.8% (13,781) since 30th June 2022 and an increase of 5.2% (18,487) since 30th September 2021.
82% of patients were waiting more than 9 weeks for a first consultant-led outpatient appointment.
50% of patients were waiting more than 52 weeks for a first consultant-led outpatient appointment.
An additional 15,454 patients were waiting to be seen for a first consultant-led outpatient appointment at a Day Case Procedure Centre.

5 years now on the list, should have learned to moonwalk during that time, any year now, I can feel it
My mother was referred for an urgent appointment by her GP.
3 years later she got her first communication about it, it was a letter asking her to confirm she still needed the appointment.

How many no longer need to be on it. At a certain point. Paying with or with insurance is just worth it.
