Agree with cutting the subsidy to horseracing and greyhounds and using it to fund other sports, but I don’t accept his argument that the FAI should be ‘rewarded’ for encouraging people to gamble on soccer. A couple of teams are sponsored by gambling companies as it is, it’s a parasitic industry.
Agreed 100%. Horse and greyhound racing does nothing for communities. Investing in local soccer teams and other sports that actually involve people could have a major impact on communities.
