How would you do it ?

Hello everyone, I’m planning to travel to Hansnes in the summer to experience midnight sun but I am a bit clueless about how I’m gonna get there and leave in time, I land in Tromso at 17h, just 15 minutes after the last bus (430) and have to go back to catch the plane at 6h in the morning after my stay.

The only two buses that pass there are at 13h and 16h45 🙁

I have several options :

* Take a taxi ? How much will it cost and would I be able to take another one to come back ?

* Don’t sleep, I think I can do it since there will be no night in June ? But I’ll have to have things to do like a movie or anything and somewhere to place my bags

And if the weather is clear :

* Sleep in a tent, never done that but apparently its legal
* Walk on the road, including in the underwater tunnel, is it risky ?
* Same things but with roller blades, is it legal ? Would be really cool since I’ll have a way of locomotion
* Hitchhiking, is it risky ? I’ve never done that too !
* Ask someone who own a boat to drive me there

  2. So if I understand this correctly, sometime in June you will land in Tromsø at 17:00, plan to go to Hansnes, and then to catch a flight out from Tromsø at 06:00 the next day? And your only stated goal is to experience the midnight sun?

    If this is right, and unless you have a special reason for going to Hansnes of all places, I’d recommend just staying in Tromsø. There’ll be just as much midnight sun there, and you’ll have plenty of stuff to do and see, although you’ll be arriving too late for most museums and other attractions to be open.

    To answer your question about sleep and transport, I assure you a taxi will be prohibitively expensive. A rough estimate is somewhere around 150 euros each way. Hotels usually cost around what you’ve said, and obviously a hostel will be cheaper. You might find a decent AirBnB, too.

    Not sleeping or just coming back early to the airport is of course an option, as you should be there one or two hours before your flight, depending on whether it’s international or domestic.

    But all in all I’m just left wondering why you’re putting yourself up to this. I recommend taking more time to be able to get around and enjoy the beautiful nature in the area.
