This government will be out in 18 months and the legislation can be reversed, so much for not eroding workers rights post Brexit, the EU protected the right to strike, this was the Tories plan all along
If enough people strike, like in the hundred of thousands or even millions, this law means nothing. I mean, what are they going to do then, jail everyone?
The only true resource is people and the only true commodity is time. We exchange our finite time for remittance. If that exchange is no longer considered fair in our opinion, we have the right to withold our time. This situation only occurs, because some believe their finite time, is more important and worthwhile than yours.
Why is this even a thing? Anti-strike laws? What so we can get one step closer to being a total authoritarian country? What’s next? The mind boggles.
No 1) Withdrawing your labour is a human right. Not being allowed to withdraw your labour is slavery.
Strikes are inconvenient for those affected by them, however those striking are even more inconvenienced by low pay and poor conditions. Besides, it may be that one day you need to strike and find that these anti-strike laws are stopping you from doing so. If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything. You don’t want to find that out too late.
You need 10 reasons? The fact that it was proposed is reason enough.
These people keep forgetting that you can’t actually effectively ban strikes short of forcing people to work at gun point.
If the laws mean I can get to work then that is a convincing benefit
