I’m looking for a jewellers in Ireland who can make a bespoke Pearl engagement ring, I’ve found styles I like online (pictured) but they’re all from the US. I want my ring manufacturer to be in Ireland in case anything happens to it. Does anyone have any ideas?

  1. As far as I know Appleby off Grafton Street still make their own stuff. Found them great to deal with, made 2 rings for me to my own spec. All be it back in 2011.

  2. Any decent goldsmith should be able to do something like that really.

I don’t know if he’s still there but we had ours custom made by a guy who worked with whatever jewellers were in the basement of dundrum town center.

At the time I just asked around for a few jewellers with an in-house goldsmith and then met with a few of them to see who I liked best and who had good ideas.

Oh and congratulations, hope she says yes

  3. Try Stone Chat Jewellers in the Westbury Mall. I’ve had a few custom pieces done by them. They are very helpful, down to earth and happy to let you lead the design process guided by their expertise.

  4. Commins in Powerscourt centre take commissions, I’m very happy with my rings but do reconsider the pearl, they’re just too delicate for everyday wear especially on the hand.

  5. Carol Clarke on the Royal Hibernian way, opposite Leonidas and nearer the Dawson Street side. No bullshit with her and she will give you “homework” onnthe styles and sizing front (which you seem to have done already), but she’s a fantastic jeweller and her time lines are reliable and her work is top quality. Gave her 5 stars on Google a few years back.

    Edited to add her website.

  6. Careful with pearls as an engagement ring, they are very soft so might deteriorate with regular wear

  7. Bespoke diamonds on Dawson street, will make whatever you want and adapt the stones to your budget
