Poland ready to send tanks without Germany’s consent, PM says

  1. I’ll repeat what I said in the megathread regarding this statement:

    > I find Morawiecki’s verbiage vague (perhaps on purpose). He’s not necessarily announcing sending the Leos without Germany’s approval, but maybe hints that he has a “plan B” in case the approval is unobtainable. Like sending the rest of the PT-91s or something along those lines.

  2. i wonder what exactly happens if they send and germany doesn’t approve? just no more replacement parts or future tank orders?

  3. If there was an actual chance of Germany saying ‘no’, Polish PM would immediately send the official request and publicly announce it on the same day. It would be after all perfect fuel to keep the state tv propaganda mill going.

  4. Poland: we will send tanks

Germany: go ahead if you ask we won’t say no

Poland: we won’t ask but if you say no we will send them anyways

    ????????

  5. Maybe we should help Polish government with drafting the reexport permission.

It happens to the best of government that during the election year they forget how to do simple tasks

  6. I like how this subreddit hand waves away the UK pressuring Germany to allow exports (lol UK politics), Poland threatening to send tanks without consent (lol Polish politics) and lots of different sources heavily implying Germany is being difficult. Maybe these countries aren’t officially asking for export before getting confirmation because it would cause a diplomatic incident that would benefit Russia?

The constant defence of dumb German politics (SPD and CDU) is so incredibly tiring. Sometimes if it looks like a dog and barks like a dog it is actually a dog rather than an anglo-polish conspiracy to besmirch the reputation of Germany.
