Hi, I am a polish person looking forward to discuss something that has caused me a great discomfort and some financial loss. The site I’m talking about is Allegro.
I found obviously fake/manipulated reviews and scores on many products, mostly Chinese products.
The situation looks like this:
1. Product has **99% positive reviews on Allegro**, but **99% negative outside of it** (other sites, Ceneo, Tech forums, YouTube, reviewing sites).
2. The product has almost a **thousand** of reviews on Allegro, but only up to **ten** on other sites, suggesting that they ‘overdid’ the amount of fake reviews. If the amount of reviews under particular product/model on Allegro was similar to the amount on other sites, it would be more believable, but it’s a difference of 1000 vs 10 here.
3. Product lacks producer info, brand, sometimes model.
4. Product quality of “new stuff” is much worse than 10+ years old products of known brands. For example 2020 4k brandless camera has worse video quality than Linksys 750p camera from many years ago. **And yet the reviews are 99% positive, and in hundreds.** Camera section on Allegro is full of this, but its not just this section.
5. **Apparently product is a laughing stock on every tech forum (either that or they criticize it).**

Someone I know bought this Power Supply Unit (PSU) for a PC recently. Apparently it explodes, could damage other components and cause a fire. **The only reviews about it outside of allegro, are completely negative.**
Let’s compare the scores:
[Product score difference between Allegro & Ceneo: Allegro \(697 scores, 97 reviews\)](https://preview.redd.it/mjms0e158zca1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=3a3143bb005c8c9cf1f85a165f30b4601d917f15)
[Product score difference between Allegro & Ceneo: Ceneo \(10 reviews\)](https://preview.redd.it/zkigapq48zca1.png?width=452&format=png&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=ec5f1d3419f866ea0b75026ff87180c8e109440c)
Some more reviews outside of Allegro:

What’s most shocking is the amount of reviews. This PSU is not known enough to have this many scores and reviews on Allegro, let alone a 99% score positivity. Having this many scores, the internet would be full of reviews about it, but it was mentioned just a few times on boards and websites.

What do other posters of r/poland think about it?

Yes it’s possible and I would say that it’s pretty standard situation in big online stores.
You can probably report those products to site owner. Just write them that you’re pretty sure that most of reviews are from bots. Maybe they’ll do something about it.

That’s not fair, we can’t do much (if anything) to change how the world works.
This isn’t an exclusively Polish problem. Fake reviews and sales of low quality products are a thing on many platforms.
Do your research before purchasing a product.
Not sure what you’d like to hear from people on here.
This is not just Allegro’s problem, Amazon, eBay and all the like are full of auctions with fake reviews, generally the best thing to do is to research the product you’re interested in on a more trusted site/forum before buying like you did
But you know that you compare three different products? 500W vs 650 W vs 450W,
In Allegro reviews are assigned to product and not to the offer on the page. It is possible that seller purposely assigned that PSU to the wrong product with better rating. In that case please report it to Allegro and they will take care of him.

There are fake reviews on Allegro, but in this case I think most of these reviews may be actually real, my reasoning is:
Allegro only allows to write review if you buy something, most products on ceneo allow reviews without purchase confirmation, and people who have so knowledge about PSUs would not buy it. At the same time faulty PSUs are pretty hard to diagnose if you don’t have experience – symptoms of faulty PSUs are not straightforward. All of that creates positive review bias.
Cube products are shite? Ffs:/
