Covid, RSV, the Sepsis panic related to scarlet fever, seasonal flu are testing the NHS to destruction. This woman had very severe symptoms potentially suggestive of an aortic aneurism. Steve Barclay should resign because this is an absolute disgrace that she bleed to death because care was delayed even though she was at an ETC. My sympathies to her family.
Her case was treated as a category one emergency, but she spent 15 hours in an ambulance. This is totally unacceptable the government need to step up and take action as the family is right a dog wouldn’t be treated this way.
The NHS being sabotaged is nothing short of violence against citizens
Another Tory murder, all these people who would be alive today if we didn’t have a Tory government.
12 years of running down our NHS so they can sell it off 😡
Are these families going to be able to take the Tories to court? They’re dying due to what the Tories have done, they should ultimately be the ones punished for this.
Spoiler warning:
This isn’t the last time this will happen this month
And if there were a General Election tomorrow, human stupidity is so unfathomable that some people would still vote for the Tories.
And can we please acknowledge the pressures that the ambulance crews are being put under, being treated as an extension of a&e for a category 1 patient, knowing that the care and treatment that they have to offer that patient is not only woefully inadequate but is potentially adding to that patients distress and suffering. Not only this, but patients are deteriorating in front of them. THIS is the reason for the strikes, and what is meant when you see a paramedic on the news saying they are doing it for the patients.
We are living on Animal Farm and the pigs in the farmhouse couldn’t care less.
You get the healthcare you pay for! As a nation we have paid 20% less than comparable countries and even less when it comes to social care. We got away with it for the first few years as NHS trusts simply cut investment in infrastructure and maintenance for buildings and equipment. Then they were asked to make more cuts so when staff left or retired they weren’t always replaced.
A few years on you have hospitals that are close to becoming condemned buildings with roofs on the verge of collapse. CT/MRI scanners that are so old they operate on windows XP software and are therefore vulnerable to cyber attack. A single nurse covering a ward that should have 4, doctors firms with half the doctors they should have.
To try and plug these staffing gaps the most important bigger gaps are filled with expensive locums the smaller ones are left unfilled and management fingers are crossed, hoping that nothing serious happens that exposes this lack of staffing.
The NHS is kind of like a family car that rather than being looked after, serviced, taxed, insured and MOTd is simply having enough done to hopefully get it to limp through an MOT with the minimum amount spent on it. We then seem surprised when it subsequently breaks down on the side of the road.
Meh this is what the government wanted, pushing people to private
Yet the people (the masses) forget they voted these clowns in
I’d go private at this point, nobody should have to wait so long for a spare bed so they can receive treatment
It’s always the poor and disadvantaged that suffer first in these scenarios. People should remember that when they support these people. They should remember that when they relinquish rights that were hard fought and when they protest about conditions and pay. There is a real life consequence to what this country is going through and everyone, regardless of what colour they support should be mindful of that.
It’s blood on all our hands really.
There’s not a whole lot that the trust can do to give answers on this one. They can give the facts and figures on ED pressures. This is a daily occurrence at the moment. It’s government who needs to answer for this, not individual healthcare trusts.
Ah yes our investments in the lived experience advisors are really paying dividends!
Christ, god forbid someone suggest there might be some issue with the NHS outside the government causing this cataclysm. That’s a small example but the waste in the management generally might be the biggest contributor here?
The tory cunts will blame it on:
The strikes, labour, Jeremy Corbyn, social care, money, insert some other shit here but themselves for the last 12 years of shit!
Just a reminder, no-one actually cares about people dying, they’re more interested in pushing politics. Life is one big facade of people pretending to actually have compassion.
Devon has more than one hospital, why have her stuck in Torbay?
The NHS has been the gold standard for the rest of the world. What happened? How did it get to this point?
At this point if you get seriously injured the best option is to call a vet and be put down.
As long as NHS has the policy of not discharging geriactrics who are not sick but have no place to go, there will be more deaths. Apparently NHS values their lives more than others.
The government are literally doing nothing, they’re letting people die. Aren’t there any protests planned? I’ve said it before, but this is where we go wrong as a country, we don’t let our feelings known, whereas in other places things would be burning by now.
The Ambulance ‘crisis’ is the result of utter incompetence by hospital management. Each hospital has scores of ‘bed blockers ‘, healthy people who need to go home or to a care facility.
This has been going on for 10 YEARS.
The solution is to move them out of the hospital and would be obvious to ANYONE.
Culpable negligence.
Just hope this anger is being directed at the right culprits. Tory cunts.
I still can’t believe this is happening. We’re all used to Tory corruption now that it doesn’t even register.
Theres no private healthcare version of A&E is there? I wonder if we will get some actual efforts at sorting this issue if someone from a prominent / wealthy family dies because of an absurd waiting time after an accident
The pay of nurses and doctors has been cut, and we’re surprised that people are struggling to get medical care?
NHS workers are doing what the Tories told them to; **moving job to get a better salary**
Pay your damn healthcare workers
She would have probably lived if she was in any other country. Even in India. Scary to think about it.
The NHS is a broken system and a farce of free healthcare for everyone. Sadly, it’s a bit like Russian Roulette if you get an ambulance in time or not.
It’s scary being ill and knowing there is no medical care available.
