As a French I feel like we are not as friendly as we could be to the Spaniards though. It seems that our unconscious strategy is to maintain them for as long as possible in their peninsular position. The Montpellier to Barcelona high speed line should be working already. The Bordeaux to Irun one should be being built right now and a Toulouse-Zaragoza link should be being planned under the Pyrenees. Same thing for electricity, roads, etc. We are clearly too slow to match their growing desire to connect to the rest of Europe through us.
Dear Spaniards, get ready for a double-stacked nothingburger. Te treaty that Macron signed with Draghi has produced absolutely nothing.
