It might be, but christ, that article was a load of waffle
Surly best is completely subjective.
My Mrs loved it and is watching it all again waiting on the new series. Me ? Couldn’t get into it. It wasn’t bad it just wasn’t something that drew me in and kept me hooked.
Only thing that was bad was any time there was a fight it was totally unrealistic.
If it is, it’s an indictment on how shit modern UK TV is lol
not as good as The Bill re-runs from the 2000’s, available here and there
Oh my god that article was painful to read.
Could never get into the first season, to be honest – “dark and depressing” is a vibe I have too much of without watching TV so tend to stick to happier stuff. I assume it’s amazing, most Sarah Lancashire stuff tends to be, but it’s certainly not for me.
Either way, though, the article is awful.
It’s an opinion piece that goes to great lengths to make it seem that it’s the *only correct opinion*.
>is better than anything HBO or FX or AMC or any of the streamers has produced in a decade.
>I want you to know that this is not an opinion. It is an **established scientific fact**, arrived at by a long and painful series of rigorously controlled viewing experiments conducted by me over the past few months.
This is both a new use of “scientific” and “fact” that I’ve not seen before…
