Thoughts? Personally, I believe this is a great step in the right direction but have reservations about implementation times.

  1. its intriguing why they chose this street in particular. I can name 5-10 other streets where a similar project would have had a way bigger impact (traffic-wise and historically).

  2. Socialist progressive-enabled government blowing more millions away on construction projects and creating yet another agency in an already bloated government for party cronies to get fat, undeserved salaries.

  3. I love the idea honestly if you leave all the politics out of it. I really love seeing people’s front gardens where I live, the only thing I don’t like is how this would affect the school near it.

  4. They sense the malaise and think they can fool the people with promises a bit longer.

Expect more chaos and more money stolen.

You are a fool to think anything a mafia state promises will be delivered. It’s like expecting hyenas to share their meat, they won’t and will bite your face off as well.

  5. I hope this is an actual attempt to make Malta greener, but much more likely the project will take years and cause even more traffic

  6. Open space as in a proper open space? Or just a bunch of concrete and twigs as trees? Or is there some hidden agenda in this plan? Hmm we’ll see …

  7. The faster we move in that direction, the better. Cleaner air with space for people to enjoy. This could really be a tourist selling point if it is implemented everywhere. It will also solve the lack of public space we have on the island.

  8. I think it is a great idea but do you guys remember before Joseph won his first or second election (around 2018) lhe said that they will do the same thing to the Santa venera tunnels [https://timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20180323/local/short-stretch-of-regional-road-could-be-roofed-over.674249](https://timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20180323/local/short-stretch-of-regional-road-could-be-roofed-over.674249) they also Said it will be done in 4 years in n 2019 it’s not done yet it still hasn’t started

  9. Ahh yes. Another park to be ignored and allowed to fall into ruin.

What was only last week that Wied Fulija “officially” became a park? Has anyone been there lately?

I can assume the answer is no. Because despite being a public park, the front gate does have this huge sign that basically says “No fun allowed!” So why would anyone go there.

But apart from that, the place is a disaster. What little real paving there is, is now either overgrown with weeds, just like all the planting they kept bragging about. Or covered in sand that was been washed off the hills that cover up the garbage underneath.

And the not-so-real paving, that got washed out over a year ago and nothing has been done to fix it.

They really should have just re-named it Weird Failure and been done with it.

So, a new park in San Ġwann by 2040, and new scrubland in San Ġwann from 2041 onwards.
