My guess is that more than half of those are temporary ones, pseudostudents, pseudomafia, pseudotraffickers etc.
Then there’s all the Turkish soldiers who come do their terms and go, their GSMs are active for a while.
Then you get all the ‘imported’ citizens from Turkey to boost the nationalist numbers for the elections.
So yeah the numbers are high but they fluctuate. Like on our free side in the summer when we can have up to 3-4 million people i suppose?
Yeah it’s a fucking mess. It’s like we are competing at who is better in corruption.
Its a bit of an over exaggeration we can not know the real number for sure i don’t think it has reached 1 mil considering there were only 230k registered voters it should be around 500-600 by my guess. There are also large temporary populations if we take them into account it could be larger.
What did anyone think would happen the Turkish Cypriots numbers would stay as it was in 1974 did the Greek Cypriots numbers stay the same has their been no immigration in the south since 1974 has no one come to the south to study since 1974 just because the Greek Cypriot administration doesn’t recognise the Turkish Cypriot administration it does not mean that time stays still and because it is fighting the long struggle the numbers will grow just as they are in the south
No way those numbers are true. Maybe in 2350 AD but right now there would be no way to even sustain such a population there. It’s most likely 20-40% of that right now.
