  1. The real sin here is that the video is shit and not funny at all.

I’m generally sympathetic towards offensive comedy, but it has got to be funny.

  2. What’s interesting about this, is it the definition of political correctness, yet the people who whine about pc culture gone mad or whatever are the ones who will be the loudest in calling for an apology

  3. He absolutely should not apologise. Saying Tiocfaidh ár Lá-la-la-la-la is in no way offensive.

SF stop pandering to these fucking idiots.

  4. O’Broin agrees that it might be wise for Adams to apologise. he doesn’t call out Adams to apologise. Misleading and deliberately cheap from the IT there imo.

Northern humour is a little more edgy that down south, just like Dublin humour is different that the west.

    No big deal.

  5. The video is mostly grand. It’s the one line where he turns to the camera and basically says ‘the RA are still out there’ that is questionable. It’s dog whistling.

  6. wow can’t believe PC cancel culture is coming for Gerry Adams for making creepy jokes about how he’s responsible for the deaths of innocent people

  7. There are people here saying this is no big deal and that people need to get a sense of humor. They would be the same people calling for heads if a FF/GS/Green backbencher came out with a tongue in cheek comment.

Gerry is a cuddly bear though who wouldn’t harm a fly and sure he was only having a laugh.

  8. Amusing – Gerry out hugging a tree in 1998 and asking Tony Blair and Alistair Campbell to join in, which they did.

Not amusing – dodgy flat sketch with bad acting and worse timing, though Gerry is not bad singer, hey

  9. Looking forward to next years Gerry Christmas song!

*”Don’t forget your shovel if you want to go to work”*

  10. Don’t you think this is a big set piece? Adams makes a provo-themed joke, O’Broin comes out to say an apology is in order. SF’s drift towards the centre keeps on, the Southern middle class are reassured that they’re not on the side of the ‘old’ SF; they’re on the side of the ‘new’ SF.
Adams and O’Broin high five and shout Tiocfaidh ár lá!!
