That’s just poor driving skills. Barnewall isn’t that bad.
There don’t seem to be any tracks through the snow on your side of the road? A car would also not stay straight if you would lose traction coming down that hill. Something seems off.

Winter tires are a thing…..
Left N.I some time ago but even if I came back I would keep using winter tires. They perform better in anything under 14 Celsius. I drove to work this morning woth -6deg and 30cm of fresh snow on the ground, zero issues.
