>A jealous true crime fan who had pictures of serial killers on her wall murdered her boyfriend in his sleep after discovering he had been messaging a 13-year-old girl, a court heard.
>Shaye Groves, 27, was “obsessed” with Frankie Fitzgerald and her fascination with serial killers and true crime allowed her to think she could clear up a crime scene, a jury was told.
>Groves, who has one child, is alleged to have launched a “passionate” attack on Fitzgerald, stabbing him 22 times and causing “catastrophic” blood loss. She then tried to create a “false alibi” by texting a friend claiming Fitzgerald had walked out, the court heard.
Groves denies murdering Fitzgerald in a “crime of passion” at her home in Havant, Hampshire, on July 17 last year.
>Steven Perian KC, for the prosecution, said Groves had previously made plans to use an former boyfriend and her cousin to “beat up” Fitzgerald and was willing to ask people to kick her so she would “look like a victim” with injuries.
>“These provide an insight into the defendant’s mind to plan an attack on Mr Fitzgerald and engineer a situation in which she appears a victim,” Perian said. “The defendant had many gangster books, like Charles Bronson. She has serial killer pictures in frames on her wall and watches murder documentaries.”
>Opening the case at Winchester crown court, Perian said the couple’s sex life involved bondage, dominance, submission and masochism. “It is likely she was obsessed with Frankie Fitzgerald because of his performance in the bedroom. The prosecution case is the defendant is a manipulative, possessive and jealous woman.”
>After her arrest Groves told police that Fitzgerald had tried to attack her, the court heard.
>The trial continues.
Hmm. Her boyfriend had been messaging a 13 year old that’s some dodgy ground to be on.
Also what is it with a lot of women being obsessed with serial killers ? Surly can’t be healthy.
They were into bondage etc. and she didn’t go with the accidental death during sex story?! Instead she stabs the dude 22 times in bed which is ofc the easiest murder to cover up bc smothering someone in their sleep is so much messier…
We’re the only true crime stories she followed ones perpetrated by utter morons? Sorry, I know the whole story is a horrific shiz show but that bothers me
A difficult one to unpack. She had serial killers on her walls so she is the type to admire the perpetrator rather than respect the victims and their stories. Messaging a 13 year old is both relevant and not. He was clearly up to no good with the kid, but I think he would have met this fate even if she had been 18+.
As a general rule if someone has framed pictures of serial killers on their wall, do not get involved with them

Went to school with her. It’s bonkers knowing somebody you saw on the playground and learned ABCs with is a murderer. I expect there may be more to come out yet.
Just shows you that these true crime people are secret nutters.
