I hope now everyone who has been vehemently defending Germany realizes how cowardly the Scholz government is and how costly their inaction will be.
Ukraine is holding on to Bakhmut by the skin of their teeth, the death toll steeply rising. Russia is by all accounts preparing a new invasion late winter/ early spring and even if the Ukrainians got the tanks today, they couldn’t use them **today**, they need to be trained on how to use them.
Germany, the de-facto EU leader, is a cowardly lion and this dangerous game of wishing to placate the Kremlin will end up costing Ukrainian lives, maybe even decide the fate of the country.
In their time of need, when the Ukrainians called on you, the German government, you cared more about the feelings of those in the Kremlin than those in Ukrainian trenches, basements, on the streets and in their cold homes affected by rolling blackouts.
Shame on you Olaf Scholz you pathethic, kowtowing coward.
Oh and, before you try to hit me with the classic of “What has your country done to help Ukraine?” I will say the same as always: too little. I have never been silent about this or my passionate hatred and utmost disgust for Milanović since he started towing the line of the Kremlin by sabotaging every attempt to help.
Well I guess this answers all the people who told me to wait for the Ramstein meeting when I was criticising Scholz for dragging his heels

This complete lack of leadership and initiative from the EU’s largest country and the EU in general is cowardly and pathetic. What a joke.
Any country co-operating with the German military industrial complex needs to pull out and readjust their strategic relationship ASAP. If they’re willingly to sacrifice Ukrainians for good relations with Russia, they too could easily sacrifice Estonia, Finland or Poland. Central, Eastern and Northern European nations need to align closer and co-operate fiercely, Germany is too naive and timid, and Southern Europe is to concerned with the Mediterranean.

The rationale of trying to get the US to supply their tanks as well is one thing – but at this time not proactively allowing other nations to supply their Leopards is just not understandable at all.
The US excuse of “Abrams are difficult to maintain, thus we cannot provide them at this time” is equally stupid – but that is simply no excuse at all for Scholz to behave even dumber!
Can’t wait to see bunch of random ppl rush in to downvote and yell how rest of the Europe hates Germany (when in reality its clearly all about Scholz and his inactivity) and claim all news about German inactions are fake.
Wait,some defence ministers actually said unofficially after Ramstein that refusal to transfer Leopard tanks was due to Scholz opposing it. Oops. Must be another fake news.

I atleast hope Germany gives a actual reason this time instead of wishy washy response about Germany only following US moves with no intiative on it’s part
