Like the last decade. What is the issue? This Minster is just stating historic fact.
The pound has gone from 1.6 pounds to the dollar to 1.22 currently we are all 30% poorer in the world currency, dollars, than when the Tories came to power, let alone when “What About Labour” were in power and it was 2 pounds to the dollar.
Imagine the average wage wasn’t $39,482 and was $64,584, what would you do with that extra money that the Tories stole from you the tax payer?
They want to take away our right to protest about this too. So it is ‘Get poorer, be happy about it and don’t you dare ask to be treated fairly.’ They do not want happy, healthy workers (the most efficient kind), they want people beaten down to the point that they will accept anything to avoid being on meagre benefits and to avoid dealing with the DWP.
Btw, even an inflation matching pay-rise is a post-tax pay cut given the freezing of the tax bands
Ash Sarkar needs to be on mainstream TV more. Brilliant performance saying things the country has needed to hear for 12 years now.
Time to investigate the disparity in wages and pensions between the unionised public sector and the underpaid and underprotected private sector. Two Britains.
I don’t think Journalist and Ash should be in the same sentence really. Shes a communist activist.
They want the old and infirm to die to save them money vampires blood suckers comes to mind greed and selfishness
I agree with the comments of Shakar’s that the piece reports, but it seems a basic journalist failure that the piece does not mention the following. As well as being a journalist, Shakar is a political activist of a fairly radical stripe, as I imagine Shakar herself would acknowledge. The state of news today!
