  1. That’s good.

I went once in the early 90s and it was amazing, and then a couple of years ago when it felt very tired and underperforming.

What struck me was that there’s some culturally very significant artifacts but the interpretation and narrative is very limited. I hope they take the opportunity to really transform the place.

  2. Sad that it’s closing for a while, but this is a good thing.

Few years back I made the effort to drive myself and a friend up there from Hull for a special outing, something different and to tick a place we wanted to visit for a while off our list. We had a good time, but quite a few of the exhibits looked tired and pretty much all of the interactive exhibits were out of action in some form (e.g. non of the game controllers working for the arcade part of the exhibition).

  3. I took the kids there the other month and that’s what I called it. The magic carpet is no more, sadly.

  4. It was a kick in the balls when London pinched the National archive but this is good news for Bradford that is having a bit of a regeneration in the city centre over the next few years plus City of Culture. Now all they have to do is regenerate some of the inhabitants who unfortunately won’t be moving to London
