  1. The further you go down the article the worse it gets, culminating in the poor woman missing his father’s funeral because of missing post.

The council going to inspect a 4 bedroom house and noting there wasn’t enough carbon monoxide alarms but saying nothing about the fact there were 8 adults living there including in the living room is another highlight. Fuck me.

Imagine being a slumlord and you get a letter in the post from the council. You’d open it thinking the gravy train is about to come to a stop but the dopey pricks only tell you to upgrade the fire alarm system and install some carbon monoxide detectors so you can continue renting a 4 bed out to 8 people.

  2. FFG’s Ireland everyone.

You’re not a human to live a life, you’re an asset to be milked dry and if you stand up for yourself you will be punished.

  3. You can’t blame the slum Lord. You have to blame the system that allows slumlords to operate with no punishment. If there’s no deterrent to stop then it will never be sorted

  4. On a side note, is there a maximum occupancy limit? Like if 8 people want to live in a 1 bedroom, is that against the law?

  5. I feel terrible that this happened. My partner and I rented a house I’m louth, when we arrived the place was beyond filthy. Of course the landlord didn’t clean it, it took us 5 days of cleaning for hours after work to get the place in a respectable manner.

A year and 10 months later we leave, only to be told our deposit is being withheld as we did horrific damage to the place I asked the landlord to provide proof and she didn’t because she couldn’t. I was threatened with a solicitor, which I laughed at her over the phone at.

So I reported the scumbag to revenue for tax evasion which I know she did and for not having the tenancy registered with the RTB. Must’ve been slapped with a massive fine cause they had to sell the house after and I know they had a lot to pay on the mortgage
