  1. “The recent wave of violence in Stockholm continues. During Friday evening and the night of Saturday, there have been several shootings and an explosion in the Stockholm area.

At 21:59 on Friday evening, the police were called to Huvudsta center in Solna after several people raised the alarm about loud bangs. Once there, they found a man outside with a gunshot wound who later died of his injuries during the night.

“Now we are conducting a police operation to find the person or persons who have committed this crime and are interrogating them”, says Per Fahlström, press spokesperson at the Stockholm Police on Friday evening.

Early on Saturday morning, the police had no further information about the state of the investigation or whether anyone has been arrested.

18:05 The police receive an alert about a shooting at an apartment door in Fruängen, south of Stockholm. The residents of the apartment are said to have escaped without injury.

According to the police, no suspect in the shooting is in custody.

19:14 on Friday evening, a car crashes in the roundabout at Gullmarsplan after a police chase. The police find weapons in the car and arrest two people. Later in the evening, another person is arrested.
Whether the incident with the car chase and those arrested in connection with it is connected to the shooting earlier in the evening is unclear.

Shortly before midnight, at 23:31, several people alerted the police about an explosion at an apartment building in Skarpnäck in southern Stockholm. On site, the police were able to ascertain that there had been a detonation in a stairwell. No one should have been physically harmed.

The police have started a preliminary investigation into public negligence.

At 01:45 there was another alarm about a shooting at a villa door in Tumba, south of Stockholm. Someone or a few have shot at a villa door and the police have labeled the incident as attempted murder, as there were people in the villa.

According to information to SVT, the night’s shootings at an apartment door in Fruängen and a villa in Tumba may be part of the same criminal conflict.

“We are mapping people and people linked to addresses to be able to see if the events are connected to other serious crimes that have taken place recently”, says police spokesperson Rebecca Landberg about the night’s events.

During a press conference on Friday, the police said that a special event has been initiated due to the recent many acts of violence in Stockholm.

“In general, you can say that we have a very high level of conflict between several different criminal networks, some of which are particularly prominent right now”, said the police’s commanding officer, Hanna Paradis.”

  2. In the 90s we had similar problems in Lithuania. It was a wild time when it felt that gangs and mafias had more power than state. It could have been even true for a couple of years. We solved that problem with relentless brutality from police and swat teams. When fuckers bacame dying and understood that no one is playing games with them, all that gang shit was taken under control. Now we are one of the safest societies in EU.

I don’t know if Sweden has willingness or will to act like that and bend the rules. Maybe we’ll see some more human rights kind of approach that will work. But I highly doubt it. Sometimes you need a stick to make certain kind of people to behave.
