The neighbourhood of the highrises is unofficially called Tornimäe (“Tower Hill”). But interestingly, it is an old name that predates all of the highrises as it was named after the [Tornimäe village](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tornim%C3%A4e) in Saaremaa where one of the local residents came from in the 19th century.
Lovely city – though I have never ventured properly out of the old town.

It’s been three years already but [I still hear this track from Tenet](https://youtu.be/p0tQLPPYcRY) in my head whenever I read the words Tallinn.
Modern architecture is such a fucking eye sore.
